Client Rights and Responsibilities
Your Rights of Appeal:
You will receive information about your rights of appeal of decisions made by your Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Counselor when: (1) you apply for VR services; (2) when you are assigned a priority category; (3) when your IPE is developed or amended, and (4) in the event VR services are reduced, suspended, or terminated.
The Client Assistance Program (CAP) is available to help you:
- Understand the services and benefits available from vocational rehabilitation services;
- Request and pursue a review of a decision made by vocational rehabilitation staff that affects the provision of vocational rehabilitation services; and
- Understand your rights and responsibilities under the law.
The CAP is provided by Disability Rights Tennessee. You can contact the CAP by mail at: 2 International Plaza, Suite 825, Nashville, TN 37217; or call them at (1-800) 342-1660 or TTY (1-888) 852-2852; or email them at GetHelp@DLACTN.org.
Your Responsibilities:
It is your responsibility to cooperate with the program of services developed for you. This includes such responsibilities as keeping appointments, going to scheduled activities, applying for comparable benefits or services when available, making good grades in training programs, paying required costs, and going to work when services are completed.
