Tennessee Public Records Act
The Tennessee Public Records Act allows Tennessee citizens to view government public records that are connected to official business transactions, unless otherwise provided by state law. For more information on public records requests, please see DOHR Policy 12-042.
Instructions to submit requests to the Department of Human Resources are below.
How to Make a Public Records Request
If you are Tennessee Citizen, or current/previous State of Tennessee employee, and would like to make a Public Records request, please submit your request using the Department of Human Resources' Request Form.
To submit a public records inquiry by paper, please direct your request to:

How to Make a Media Request
If you are a member of the press making a media request for Department of Human Resources or State of Tennessee employee data in accordance with the Tennessee Public Records Act, submit your media request using the Department of Human Resources' Request Form.
