Red Ribbon Week
Tony Pedro, promoted Red Ribbon Week at his local high school. Fifty-four students took the pledge to be substance-free. For each signature, the student received a red ribbon week bracelet and a plant the promise shovel and red tulip bulbs.

Power of Putnam’s Youth Group - Power to Thrive
Antonio Pedro (Tony) a junior at Cookeville Highschool. Tony visits youth groups whether it be church groups, sports teams, school clubs or extracurricular activities. The topic for discussion is Taking Down Tobacco and #BetheFirst tobacco-free generation. Tony's goals are to reach as many groups as possible! He shares about the history, the cause, and effect of tobacco and who Big Tobacco targets along with ways to combat their schemes. His first training was with Power of Putnam, an anti-drug and substance abuse coalition.

Young people in Smith County joined youth all across Tennessee to take part in Kick Butts Day on March 20, 2019. Kick Butts Day is an annual celebration of youth leadership and activism in the fight against tobacco use
Smith County High School SADD Club participated in Kick Butts Day this year by setting up a tobacco booth at lunch to educate their peers on the dangers of tobacco and e-cigarette use.

Kick Butts Day
Gordonsville High School SADD Club participated in Kick Butts Day this year by setting up a tobacco booth at lunch to educate their peers on the dangers of tobacco and e-cigarette use.
