Health Resource Shortage Areas (HRSA)
HRSA's are state designated and represent the 30 worst shortage areas in Tennessee. The Annual Healthcare Provider Census is conducted by the State Office of Rural Health. The HRSA'a are determined by comparing one full-time equivalent clinician compared to the total population in a county, which is reported as a ratio of providers to the total population of a county.
