Brook Powell

Brook Powell is an Environmental Scientist with the Office of Sustainable Practices. She manages the Tennessee Higher Education Sustainability Initiative that encompasses three programs that support the schools and local underserved communities. These programs include the TN College/Underserved Community Partnership Program, the TN Higher Education Sustainability Network, and the Campus Food Pantry Program. 

She is proficient in GIS and assists with developing and updating maps for several of the office’s programs to reflect program outreach. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geosciences from Middle Tennessee State University and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Education at U T Martin. Brook’s prior experience and training includes ten years in the environmental regulatory sector and four years conducting groundwater tracing and GIS mapping Tennessee’s underground waterways.
