Resources

In addition to OPSP’s technical assistance and the use of the Tennessee Materials Marketplace as a tool to assist in facilitating materials reuse connections, several other resources are available for Tennessee industries and businesses:

  • University of Tennessee – Center for Industrial Services - UT CIS assists Tennessee companies with short and long-term strategies for sustainability through onsite assessments and onsite training.
  • Southeastern Recycling Development Council (SERDC) - SERDC engages professionals, organizations, businesses and industry to promote sustainable recycling programs; and, to coordinate education and public awareness activities related to recycling.
  • Tennessee Recycling Coalition (TRC) - TRC 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to promoting recycling and sustainable materials management practices in the State of Tennessee.
  • Turnip Green Creative Reuse (TGCR) – TGCR aims to reduce waste and divert materials from the landfill, to be put to the highest best use. They do this in many ways, including facilitating waste reduction education programs that educate and empowering tens of thousands of Tennesseans to be environmental stewards. Programs are taught through hands-on art projects using 100%, second-hand, environmentally sourced supplies from the organization’s creative reuse shopping and donation center.
