Position Description: The Data Use Analyst and Coordinator supports the Data Use Team in conducting essential data support activities to facilitate the department’s data-driven decision-making process. With guidance from the Senior Director of Data Use and Senior Data Analyst, the individual will be responsible for maintaining the critical data assets of the Data Use Team and conducting in-depth exploratory analyses of any novel datasets as assigned. In addition, the individual will fulfill various data requests the department receives and contribute to providing data support to program teams as requested. Essential Functions:
· Data Analysis and Support: Conduct in-depth exploratory analyses of assigned datasets from various data sources to identify potential data quality issues and calculate basic summary statistics. Present the findings of these analyses to the team. In addition, conduct requested data cleaning required to support the ongoing work of the Data Use Team by collaborating with appropriate team members. Establish and maintain detailed documentation on data cleaning protocols and relevant business rules.
· Data Requests Coordination: Support the Senior Director of Data Use in coordinating the department’s data requests process. Monitor the department’s data management inbox to respond to inquiries from both internal and external stakeholders in a timely manner.
· Data Requests: Fulfill both internal and external data requests in a timely and accurate manner. Provide other data support to program teams across the department as assigned.

Required Education and Knowledge:
· Master’s degree in Education, Economics, Statistics, or relevant field with minimum of 4 or 5 years of experience in data analyses to complete moderately complex tasks and exposure to project coordination; OR Ph.D. degree in Education, Economics, Statistics, or relevant field with minimum of 2 years of experience in data analyses to complete moderately complex tasks and exposure to project coordination is required

General Description:

Position Summary: The Manager of Early Childhood Special Education Programs is responsible for supporting the priorities of the TDOE, the Office of Academics and the Early Learning Division. This leadership position within the Early Learning Division is charged with oversight of IDEA 619 classrooms and management of contractors. In addition, the director position will manage the quality tools and resources with varying levels of complexity within the Special Education Framework to support stakeholders across Tennessee to support students with disabilities. The individual will ensure that young children with disabilities, ages 3-5-years-old, are meaningfully engaging in high-quality learning experiences with the individualized supports needed to ensure they are equitably accessing early learning opportunities.
· Education: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree preferred. Candidates should have a special education degree or related service degree in education.
· Experience: At least five (5) years of experience in full-time professional educational or instructional work, including at least two (2) years of supervisory/administrative or advisory work. Substitution of Education for Experience: Graduate coursework from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the required experience, on a year-for-year basis, to a maximum of two years, there being no substitution for the required two years of specialized experience. · Provide partnership support by participating in activities such as the state advisory council, state interagency coordinating council meeting, SPED supervisor’s meetings, etc. (6%)
· Respond to calls and other communications from families, other early childhood professionals, LEAs, and the public regarding ECSE preschool programs and services. (10%)
· Provide support for the development and implementation of instructionally appropriate Individual Educational Plans (IEP’s). (1%)
· In coordination with the state Voluntary Pre-K (VPK) and Head Start, provide feedback and support to LEAs (Local Education Agencies) to promote collaboration and inclusion expectations for VPK and Head Start programs. (3%)

General Description:
The role of the Special Education Teacher was created to assist in the teaching process, including supervising students in the classroom and other designated areas, creating lesson plans, delivering instruction, collaborating with colleagues, and addressing inquiries from students, parents, and guardians regarding the curriculum and student development. Minimum Qualification

Duties and Responsibilities:
· Creates and administers assessments tailored to specific subjects to evaluate students' skills and knowledge levels, as well as to customize personalized learning strategies.
· Develops a curriculum in the classroom setting that encourages students' future development and gives them opportunities for growth.
· Informs parents or legal guardians about the progress of their child, provides expectations, discusses the student's accomplishments, and suggests ways to support or enhance academic goals at home.
· Evaluates student advancement toward specified objectives, expectations, and/or goals to give feedback to students, parents, and administration.
· Works with teachers, school staff, parents, and community resources to enhance student success, meet classroom goals, and contribute to the school's improvement plan.

Overview

Description: The staff interpreter at TSD will provide interpreting services to students, staff, families, and others.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree required
• RID certification (CI, CT, CI/CT, NIC, CDI, etc.) or Tennessee Educational Interpreter License required
• Strong fluency in interpreting voice-to-sign and sign-to-voice in academic settings preferred (*note: voice-to-sign not required for CDI candidates)
• Ability to interpret for Deaf professionals in academic settings
• Demonstrated knowledge of Deaf Culture required
• SLPI:ASL rating of Advanced or above required; SLPI:ASL rating of Intermediate Plus preferred. American Sign Language (ASL) sign classes and skill development support available for selected qualified applicants who do not meet the rating level
Terms of Employment: Full time 12-month employee
Salary: State of TN Salary Grade M - $4975 per month
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Serve as an interpreter for students, staff, families and other visitors
• Interpret student IEP meetings
• Interpret other meetings as needed (in-service trainings and workshops)
• Support statewide outreach efforts to K-12 educational interpreters
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Demonstrated ability to work well with a diverse population
• Time management skills in scheduling events and meetings
• Ability to prioritize requested services
• Comfortable working with young students and adults
• Ability to provide outreach, training, and support to K-12 educational interpreters in the state
