The Jobs for Veterans State Grants, or JVSG, program provides federal funding through a formula grant to the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development. That funding allows a dedicated staff to provide individualized career and training-related services to veterans and eligible persons with significant barriers to employment and to assist employers in filling their workforce needs with job-seeking veterans. In 2019, the State of Tennessee started Apprenticeship TN. In about 4 years, the State of Tennessee has over 8,300 active apprentices and 375 Registered Programs. Apprenticeships are a great way to earn while you learn on the way to a career in an industry. Shalondria and Autumn discuss why Apprenticeship TN became a State Apprenticeship Agency, bringing Registered Apprenticeships to the healthcare industry, and National Apprenticeship Week from November 13-19. |
