Subsequent Injury and Vocational Recovery Fund
Encouraging employers to hire workers with permanent disabilities.This fund provides benefits to eligible previously-injured workers who have been are impaired by an additional workplace injury that renders the worker permanently disabled.Â
The Subsequent Injury Fund (SIF) subsidizes PTD payments for qualifying disabled workers who sustain another injury at work.
A vocational recovery program that assists eligible injured workers by funding additional education or job training to re-enter the workforce.
The funding for these benefits comes from a portion of the premium tax that is collected on all workers’ compensation insurance policies when the policies are purchased or renewed.
